Specification

The three bold grades

Grade is pod size, measured across a sorting screen. Every grade is sorted for size, colour and density; only the screen differs, not the estate.

6 mm Working grade

The everyday trade size, for the pot rather than the plate. Most chai shops take it.

7 mm Standard bold

Visibly larger pods, still priced for volume. Usual for restaurants and own-label repacking.

8 mm+ Extra bold

Our top grade, the only one in Panasva retail packs, and the one export buyers ask for.

  • Grown under forest shade at Chathurangapara, Idukki.
  • Handpicked ripe, then gently cured.
  • Cleaned, size-graded and colour-sorted on modern equipment, under moisture and hygiene controls.
  • No coating, no artificial colour, essential oils left in.
Moisture & analysis Confirmed per lot against your specification. It moves with the harvest, so we do not quote one figure.

Shipping cardamom out of India

Indian green cardamom ships under HS code 0908.31: cardamoms, neither crushed nor ground. That is the line your customs broker will want.

The rest varies by destination. Send us the country, port and quantity and we will confirm packing, documents and lead time, or say plainly if it is beyond us.
